travellers.

i am a traveller.
one eighth of my blood.
a little bit pyke to add some fun.
i do not beg
and i do not steal
but its my traveller blood that gives me zeal.

birds in sunderland

jump over seaweed,
fall into sand,
i'm going to swim,
far away from this land,
ice numbs my feet,
clouds steal my heat,
determination posponed,
back onto the beach
i retreat,
the birds are abundant
my breath skipps a beat
i frolick
i float around like fish
i run along with the birds.
oh weather man
my freedom
you cannot defeat.

the space i live in is empty
my eyes hurt
the strange feelings in my body are heavy
rolling along with the ones you'd die for
things change
now they're the ones you cry for
not crying because of distance
rather the closeness that creates such sickness
rumernating thoughts about the end
same conclusion
there's always that friend
is it true love
or do we jsut hope they'd care
as you drift into the other world
smiles creep down
and soak into me
bliss exists
it consumes me.

poem of sunshine

the type ones face longs for
throught the window
it falls on the floor
strings pull smile back from winter
heart begins to lift
and eyes glitter
the dys of joyous living
no cold day blues
or wet day shivers
knee caps ache for activity
mid-drift swivels in anticipation
this hope
this expectation
slowly crumples back into reality
the sun will shine
there will be times
the truth may stay,
not to be dissolved with higher moods of the day,
heart drops,
umbrella proped,
next time sunshine comes
let's not let go of it.
into the dreams
i choose to adventure
back into nature
isn't mother earth clever
enjoy the day's with rays
they are happiness in a cylender.

buzz and hum

buz and hum lives in my feet
anxiety chooses to reside in my teeth
consious of my lips,
pirsed with an anger not willing to be released.
in the muscles is the sorrow
in the stomache is the sickness
it's the eyes that lie,
the voice steers the boat.
body fights,
mind gives in everything,
voice leads my person
throught the maze of life.
each hearbeat.
each breath.
this body is my future.
the past is my bread.

thanks

i proably should sleep,
but to sleep is then to wake,
to wake once more and again
to the realness and pain,
each day brings new challenges,
regret, frustration, sorrow, anger,
never hopelessness
for giving up on progress,
one loses it all,
confusion bubbles,
each finger struggles.
the body is reality
life has been chosen
to question why,
the combination that is me,
the life that is mine,
the future that will be,

I choose dreaming.
the only truth that is real,
so real in it's lie
the unfolding of events, emotions, digestion, relaxation.
dreaming is my vaccation.
life is a chore
to quit is to relenquish thanks,
but thanks I have not.

dear happiness

oh where'd you go,
dear happiness?
sunk as far into the present as possible,
to feel the weight lift is regretted
as one knows the build up ill flow
face smiles,
people forget,
front lines charge forward
each body sell will cringe
and dance with emotions of a country.

lungs fill, heart stops, feet drop,
sounds soften as passion is forgotten,
why bother with relationships,
the one true importance of life,
so easily lost, broken,
but never forgotten.

old names, new crazes.
why is it we know more about hollywood
than we do our neighbours

soft sighs, night skyes, bird crys,
drifting throught the motions,
awake when we sleep,
why is it always of you that I dream.

moon pie.

I blame it on the Moon in Leo. It's something segue, everyones in flux. Away pending plans and greenbacks. Newark is just the big ol acme magnet that's seen so many deviate in it's path, chasing after anything that moves. Go with it.

affirmation

Always Look forward. Be excited about the future. Make plans. Do not dwell in the present or past. Tomorrow is a new day. Given time everything will be ok. Just do your best. Be the best person you can be. Never be mean. Even when you think people are in the wrong. Sleep on it. Compliment people. Make sure your friends and family know you love them. And know you are there for them. Be thankful. Drink wine. In moderation. Remember to eat well. Fruit and Veg. Do exercise. Mediate often. Focus on the bliss. Take control of your thoughts. Be compassionate. Be free. Be clear. You are young. It is ok to make mistakes. Be careful. Don’t drink too much coffee. Drink water. Be a diligent student. Do your homework on time. Don’t procrastinate. Facebook is not the answer to your problems. Don’t stress. But it is ok to stress out sometimes. You are sane. Even if you may not feel it. Breathe. Smile. Laugh. Have a wonderful day.

Richard Ord: Colmans of South Shields

Richard Ord of Colmans Fish Restaurant, South Shields
Colman's in South Shields has been described as "the nearest thing to an eco-chippy you're likely to find", a fish and chip restaurant which only serves wild fish from sustainable grounds, uses additive-free vegetable oil and sends its waste fat to be made into bio-fuel. Noted for its welcoming atmosphere, Colman's has featured regularly for the past few years in the Times' Top 10 UK Fish and Chip Shops, and was voted Best UK Takeaway at the BBC Food and Farming Awards 2007.
Coming from a family that's been serving their own fish and chips for over four generations, owner Richard Ord has earned his title of best fryer in North-East England. Serving traditional, top quality line-caught Icelandic cod and haddock and more unusual specials daily, customers can enjoy a leisurely meal in the restaurant as well as a bite on the go. Richard recently signed up as a key supporter of our new Seafood See Life sustainable fish initiative, and here explains how he's managed to make sustainability a key element in sourcing all Colman's seafood.
What started you thinking about sustainability?
Over the years I could see the fish stocks in the North Sea dwindling, so obviously something had to be done. So I decided to see what could be done to help the industry. That's how we started to look at sustainability. This was several years ago.
How did you get started?
I then contacted suppliers and started asking questions. I told them that we would only purchase fish and seafoods from them if it came from sustainable fishing stocks. If I found that they could not supply us, then obviously we would not use them. We supplied them all with our procurement policy and ask them to confirm in writing that they adhered to the policy. I then asked for a list of boats, sectors (fishing grounds) and fishing methods used.
What have you got planned for the future?
To develop customers' awareness of sustainability and keep them informed of the fish they should be avoiding. Also to encourage customers to try different species of fish and seafood.
What’s on the menu and how much does it cost?
Basically, fish and chips - £6.95; calamari - £7.95; local crab - £9.95; local lobster and chips - £18.95; mussels - £9.95; fishcakes - £5.95. and more.
How important is sustainability to customers?
Our customers are becoming more and more aware about sustainability, and of course they are gradually beginning to realise what a precious resource our fish is. So the message is slowly but surely getting there.
What’s your favourite sustainable fish?
Well if I had a choice it would be between gurnard or haddock.
Michelin starred chef and fellow Seafood See Life supporter Tom Aikens recently started his own fish and chip restaurant, Tom's Place, in London. What do you think of it?
It looks terrific, he is doing a wonderful job. We're really glad he is following our example! I'm planning to come to London shortly and it is top of my list. His whole approach to sustainability is excellent and it deserves to be a huge success. But I'm sorry Tom, you can't have our batter recipe!
What would you say to others that might want to make the change?
That's an easy question, just do it. Join Seafood See Life now. We must all work together for future generations to come, it's our duty. And it gives me great pleasure for Colman's to promote sustainability. I'm sure Seafood See Life will be hugely successful."

it's a wonderful world - louis armstrong

My favourite song?

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and you
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white

The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky

Are also on the faces, of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, saying how do you do
They're really saying, I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow

They'll learn much more, than I'll never know
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world

Yes I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
